Each school has its own policy related to the rules that applied in school, one of the policies that is still a debate today is the prohibition on students to bring cellphones to school. In the modern era such as now, most teenagers don't feel comfort to be detached from their cellphone, the cellphone is used as a means to communicate with friends, obtain information, and as an entertainment media.

Parties who agree with the policy to allow students to bring their cellphones to school say that the cellphone is a source of information that can facilitate the learning process of students in the classroom. One of the functions of the cell phone as a source of information can be used by students to find answers to problems that cannot be solved by simply reading the available books, besides that the internet also makes it easier for teachers to explain learning material if the material available in the book is incomplete. In addition, the cellphone can also facilitate communication between students and parents while at school, students who are picked up at school can also contact their parents easily, especially if there is a change in school time, so parents do not have to wait too long when picking up their children. Students who are sick during study hours can also contact their parents to pick up.

However, those who disagree with the policy "students may bring their cellphones to school" also have arguments related to it. They say bringing a cellphone to school will only disrupt the focus of students at school. Students will be more focused on playing cellphones than learning or heard the teacher who was explaining in front of the class, there were students who secretly played cellphones for unnecessary things while not being seen by the teacher, students would also prefer to play games through their cellphones rather than learning. This causes students not to receive learning material properly. In addition, bringing a cellphone to school will cause social inequality and bring negative impacts on students and their social environment. Students who do not have cellphones will feel alienated compared to their friends and can lead to criminal cases in the school environment. 

The negative impact for students and their environment is that the internet network makes it easy for students to access the negative content that leads to pornography that is not useful in student learning. Students will also be more passive with the surrounding social environment and more active on social media. Students prefer to communicate with their friends who are far away via cellphone rather than communicating with their surrounding friends, this certainly has a bad impact on students' ability to socialize directly.

The conclusion of the statement is that bringing a cellphone to school can have a positive or negative impact on students and other parties, therefore a further review is needed regarding these rules so that it can produce the best policy for students and the parties concerned.
